Good morning, dear friends! I'm back from a much-needed vacation and ready to share with you some lovely new homes and gardens. Today's story is one I've been closely following on Instagram during the apocalyptic year 2020 and it comes to us courtesy of designer Whitney McGregor and Southern Living magazine. Whitney McGregor is a fabulous self-taught Southern decorator whose home we've all admired in Southern Living magazine back in 2018. Today's tour however is that of an investment property she and her father purchased in Cashiers, North Carolina, featured in the September 2021 issue of Southern Living. With a few clever tweaks and a strew of beautiful estate sale finds, the house was finished in record time and is currently available to rent for anyone who's planning a vacay in Cashiers, North Carolina. Isn't this a fabulous vacation spot? I love that Whitney McGregor decided to keep the wood paneling in its original form throughout most of the house and complemented the warm, orange tones with cooler blues and whites. The kitchen is fantastic and it was designed with function and comfort in mind, without sacrificing beauty & style. The open shelving is an affordable alternative to upper cabinets and it lends the space a certain European flair, as do the framed vintage posters around the sink.
